1. Battery backup - I have deep cycle batteries I keep charged currently just 1 large and a few small more portable units.
2. Power Generation - Batteries need to be recharged, so I have several levels of chargers
- Solar, from a small AA & AAA, D, C cell charger to 100 watts of panels.
- Wind, a 400 watt generator for night and day charging.
- Fuel, two gas powered generators, 1700 watt & 3500 watt, for charging batteries and powering heavy electrical loads. I keep 10 gal of extra gas as well as 1/2 tank at all times in both my trucks.
- Hand crank, small unit to charge 12 volt accesories.
3. Hardware - I started buying stuff that runs off of 12 volts. These are useful in both a survival situation and when camping (great practice for survival).
- Lights, spot and area floresent
- Cooking, water pot heater, electric stove.
- 12v Laptop charger & AA, AAA battery charger
- 12v communications (Ham) Radio gear, also SW, Scanner, TV, Music, FRS, GMRS & MURS
- 12v power converters 120watts, 300watts, 600watts 1200watts
